Safari Camp Part 2

On Tuesday the animal emphasized was the Giraffe.

Following a story that emphasized generosity (we even had a song called The Generous Giraffe!) there was English worksheet time.

We incorporated the use of phonics phones that Curt made for each child. These are like play phones that give the speaker immediate feedback as to the correct pronunciation of words. etc. It really helps the child hear how they sound speaking English. And the jungle duck tape made them safari phones! 🙂

  1. Great photos! How exactly do the “phones” work? Love this giraffe! Is Christi wearing a black wig?! Love you guys! Karen and Dan

    • The phones give the kids a real idea of what they sound like, therefore confirming to them that they are pronouncing the English correctly. Kristi doesn’t have a wig on! ha!
